OUR MISSION
TAIWANTAIWAN ASSOCIATION FOR GLOBAL HEALTH INITIATIVE

The APACPH, established in 1984, is the most prestigious public health professional non-profit academic international organization in the Asia-Pacific region, serving as a vital think tank for the health departments of various countries. In 2017, the Taiwan Health Promotion Administration and APACPH jointly established the CCHP with the primary goal of enhancing the core capacities of health promotion among senior public health professionals in the Asia-Pacific region. This initiative aims to increase Taiwan's visibility in the Asia-Pacific region and the New Southbound Policy countries. The CCHP Director is Dr. Hung-Yi Chiou, who is also the President of TAGHI and the Director of the Institute of Population Health Sciences at the National Health Research Institute. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is Dr. Betty Ya-Wen Chiu, who is also the Secretary-General of TAGHI and a Principal Investigator at the National Health Research Institutes. With long-term support from the Taiwan Health Promotion Administration, CCHP has organized nearly 25 international conferences, forums, and educational training workshops both domestically and abroad. It has developed trend studies focusing on non-communicable diseases, strengthened the resilience of health systems in Taiwan and partner countries, and integrated preventive measures to enhance the overall health level of the region.

In addition to its work with APACPH CCHP, TAGHI is actively organizing international conferences. These events serve as platforms for public health professionals, researchers, and policymakers to share their insights, discuss innovative solutions, and foster partnerships. By hosting these conferences, TAGHI contributes to the global dialogue on health issues and helps to drive forward the agenda for better health outcomes worldwide.

Moreover, TAGHI President Dr. Hung-yi Chiou and Secretary-General Dr. Betty Ya-wen Chiu are collaborating with Taiwan's Ministry of Health and Welfare on the "Global Health Trends Analysis and National Strategy Recommendations" project. Together, they are analyzing global health trends, assessing their implications for Taiwan, and formulating strategic recommendations to enhance Taiwan's global health positioning. Their expertise and insights are instrumental in shaping policies that address both current and emerging health threats, ensuring that Taiwan remains at the forefront of global health leadership. TAGHI will continue its dedication to contributing to global health through its efforts in fostering regional and international collaboration.
