Introduction of Taiwan Association for Global Health Initiative (TAGHI)The Taiwan Association for Global Health Initiative (TAGHI), established in July 2023, is an organization dedicated to advancing global health initiatives. Led by President Hung-Yi Chiou and Secretary-General Betty Ya-Wen Chiu, with a current membership of 39 (including 38 individuals and 1 institutional member), TAGHI brings together professionals from diverse fields.
TAGHI's Board of Directors are representatives from the National Health Research Institutes, the International Cooperation and Development Fund, Kaohsiung Medical University, National Taiwan University, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, National Cheng Kung University, Hualien Tzu Chi University, Ming Chi University of Technology, Taipei Medical University, China Medical University, and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. Recruited from all over Taiwan, these directors are the top experts in global health, international health, public health, population health sciences, environmental and occupational health sciences, international cooperation and development, international medical service centers, medicine, biomedical informatics, and information technology, displaying Taiwan’s strong determinations to contribute to global health.
TAGHI was established with a clear mission: to promote the advancement, research, and development of global health. The association actively engages in international exchange and advocacy related to global health issues. TAGHI is committed to fostering connections and collaborations among its members, as well as with relevant domestic and international organizations, academic groups, and individuals. Additionally, TAGHI strives to drive the development of global health-related courses and initiatives, focusing on nurturing talent in the field. The association's overarching goal is to contribute significantly to the promotion and enhancement of global health on a broad scale.
TAGHI welcomes everyone who is passionate about global health—whether you are a student, health professional, or engaged in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) work. The members of TAGHI encompass a wide spectrum of expertise, including professors, physicians, researchers, professionals from NGOs, and more.
