The Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium for Public Health (APACPH), founded in 1984, is a leading academic organization that brings together hundreds of schools of public health, research institutions, and governmental agencies across 23 countries in the Asia-Pacific region to advance education, research, and international collaboration for sustainable global health. Last November, our Director, Hung-Yi CHIOU, became the new President of APACPH. On February 5, 2026, he will preside over the Executive Council Meeting (ECM) at the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), gathering 17 top management leaders from 9 countries to jointly discuss the organization’s vision, governance, and development strategies. Furthermore, the 57th APACPH Conference will be held from October 20 to 23, 2026, in Tainan, Taiwan, hosted by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), under the theme “Leveraging Healthcare Technology and Artificial Intelligence for Public Health and Wellness,” exploring how healthcare technology and AI can improve public health and wellness. Returning to Taiwan after seventeen years, the APACPH Conference highlights Taiwan’s significant role in the Asia-Pacific public health arena, with preparations for the annual conference also constituting a key agenda item of this ECM.
